JAMBITES

Recently, there have been rumours that JAMB has been scrapped following the introduction of O’Level admission into tertiary institutions in Nigeria and the removal of Mathematics as a requirement for Arts students seeking admission.

Has JAMB Been Scrapped?

JAMB has not been scrapped; any news or rumour claiming otherwise is completely FALSE.

Has JAMB Been Scrapped by FG? All You Need to Know

The truth is that the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has not been scrapped by the Federal Government.

However, the Federal Government has introduced new alternative admission methods, allowing institutions to admit students through other approved means.

These reforms allow institutions to admit qualified candidates directly based on their O’Level results and other approved criteria.

JAMB remains fully operational and is still the major and recognised mode of gaining admission into Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.

This means schools may now decide whether or not to adopt these new methods in addition to JAMB.

Any news or rumour suggesting that JAMB has been scrapped or replaced is FALSE.
